Project Overview

A two-bedroom apartment in Chicago cleaned in the four-day window between the previous tenant leaving and the new owners taking possession. An empty property is the only time every cupboard interior, appliance back and floor edge is genuinely reachable, so the whole scope was built around that access. The team worked top down through each room, finishing floors last so nothing already cleaned was re-soiled.

The Challenge

The previous occupants had left grease behind the cooker and limescale through both bathrooms, neither of which responds to a single pass. Building rules restricted work to weekday hours and limited lift access for equipment. The handover date was fixed, so there was no option to extend the schedule if a room took longer than planned.

Project Goals

The goal was a property the new owners could unpack into immediately, with nothing left needing attention before the first box came in. That meant treating the flat as a whole rather than prioritising the rooms that show, and documenting anything structural we found so it could be raised with the managing agent rather than quietly cleaned over.
